Achieving Self-Sufficiency in Power for Cooking and Lighting

Building a bio digester at the Nandi Schools project in Kenya has been a long-held dream of ours, aimed at helping the school achieve self-sufficiency in power for cooking and lighting.

This 20-minute video provides an in-depth look at the construction process and the challenges we faced while building this 59m³ system, capable of producing 10m³ of bio gas per day.

This ambitious project was our primary focus for 2024, taking approximately one month to complete at a total cost of around £5,500. The bio digester is projected to save the school up to £1,500 per year on energy and fertilizer costs, significantly reducing operational expenses and contributing to a more sustainable future.

We extend our thanks to all our supporters for their unwavering support and generous donations, which made this dream a reality. Your contributions have been instrumental in transforming the Nandi Schools project, paving the way for a greener, more self-sufficient future.
