Disillusioned by another charity’s misuse of funds they supported, Duncan and Petra McDonald launched an independent project where every penny directly funds the children and building a self-sustaining school in Kipsamoite, Nandi Province, Kenya.     What We Are Doing

    6 Classrooms, an admin block, a community hall and dining room, a kitchen, a bio digester and a rain water harvesting system have all been built so far! But plans go far beyond this to make this a fully self sustaining school.

    When we arrived at this run down school there where 150 pupils attending none were sponsored. Now we have 550 children with which 203 of the poorest children in the area are sponsored.

    The future is bright for the Nandi School project as we have an amazing group of sponsors and donors who have committed long term to helping this project succeed. Plans will see significant improvement over the next few years.

    I am not a person who has lots to say about the issues going on around the world. I am a little cynical about many do gooders generally as not many live up to my expectations. Duncan and Petra have dedicated themselves to developing a school and to be honest much more than that as by the actions and work they have put in they have not only helped children but a whole community.  I have lived and worked in Kenya for many years now and I truly don’t believe I know of anyone else who with their sponsors have made such a positive impact on so many persons who didn’t have hope before their intervention.
