Duncan McDonald – Founder & Chairman
Duncan’s journey to establish this charity and project is documented throughout this website, detailing a story rooted in a growing love for Kenya and its people with each visit. His deep sense of belonging fueled his commitment, and his background in construction—a full bricklaying apprenticeship and an ONC in Building Studies—equipped him early on with the skills and knowledge to start his own business at 19.

Despite his early success, Duncan pursued a long-held dream and joined the Metropolitan Police in his early 20s, serving nearly 16 years before transitioning into a new career. He opened a gallery and picture framing business, which he led until 2022, when his son Kieran took over as Managing Director. Though now chairman, Duncan remains actively involved as a guide and advisor for Kieran. Over the years, he also renovated three properties, applying his construction skills and often helping others with similar projects.

As he eases into retirement, Duncan has found renewed purpose through this project, which channels his passion, skills, and love for Kenya into a cause he’s deeply committed to. Duncans philosophy is simple;

Fill your life with action. Don’t wait for things to unfold—make them happen. Create your own future, your own hope, your own love. And whatever your beliefs, honor your creator not by waiting passively for blessings to descend, but by actively making them happen… yourself, right now.
